Cell phone numbers go public this month.
That means that your cell phone numbers is being released to telemarketing companies, which means you will soon begin to receive those frustrating sales calls.
Irritating, yes, but the news gets worse…
…. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THOSE CALLS!
Go ahead and fume for a bit. I did. But then take steps to stop this upcoming run on your cell phone minutes.
All you need to do is call, from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
This is the National Do Not Call list.
It only takes seconds to complete your call, but it will block your number for 5 years.
You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. It won’t work if you call from a different phone number.
While you’re at it, you may want to register your landline as well. (You will have to make another call–one from that phone.)

Thanks for the reminder! I registered our home phone number several years ago via a website, but as I told Christian the other day after a series of annoying phone calls, I think our five years are up. And I don’t think I ever registered my cell phone.
